Keep Alive will send a personalized SMS message to one or more people if you have not used your device for a specific period of time. Intended to be used as a failsafe for those who live alone in the event of an accident or other emergency. Once the settings are configured, no further interaction is required. Android now automatically removes permissions for apps that haven’t been used recently. Keep Alive, once settings are configured, requires no further interaction and can have its permissions revoked, possibly preventing it from sending an alert. Keep Alive was designed to work as unobtrusively as possible, and instead of asking the user to open the app periodically, it expects this behavior to be disabled. On the most recent version of Android, this is called “Suspend app activity if not in use” and can be found on the App Info screen for Keep Alive.
